We're always in need of fresh ideas, volunteers, players, coaches, and especially referees! Please get involved and help support the kids, the club, and our community. There are open board positions, fall coaching openings, and always board meetings where you can provide your input and suggestions. And as for referee's, they are always in short supply. Volunteer, get trained, and then get paid for refereeing a great sport! If interested, please send an email to or call any of the Association Board members. Their contact information can be found from the "BOARD" link above.

Thanks for your support!

Referees Profile

18 year old Morgan Laird has returned from her first year of education studies to spend the summer keeping the soccer stats in check. Morgan has been officiating since she moved to Swift Current five years ago, and has made her way up the officiating ranks to become a Class 3 Referee. This means she can officiate in any tournament at the provincial level, and is making good use of her ability to do so. She has sported a whistle for tournaments all over the province and beyond, including the Division 2 provincials, and last years Rocky Mountain Cup in Edmonton, where under 13 and under 14 boys and girls all-star teams from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta butted heads. This year marked a great accomplishment on her refereeing resume. Laird was awarded the 2003 Referee of the Year Award by the Swift Current Soccer Association. She hopes to take her Class two refereeing certificate this summer, and eventually get her Class One so that she can referee at a national level. "There are a lot of parents and coaches who think they know the calls better than you do" Morgan said "you've just got to block it out. You can't let what everyone says get to you...you have to be confident that you know what you are calling."

Coaches Profile

During the past year Bill Thomas has been Swift Current’s busiest soccer coach. Bill led three United Club teams through the outdoor season and two indoor teams this past winter, while still finding time to help the Colts soccer team through the high school season. He credits some very good assistant coaches and an enjoyable group of players to his ability to commit so much time to soccer in Swift Current. One of the highlights of his five years of coaching was his U14 boys team which attended the 2004 Summer Games and was able to attend a World Cup qualifier in Edmonton between Canada and Honduras. In training Bill emphasizes the basics and tries to get as many touches on the ball as possible. He also changes exercises frequently and uses a variety of small sided games to avoid boredom. Bill believes “that soccer should be played for the love of the game and that success is not measured by wins and losses alone. With two kids still involved in soccer, Bill should be a mainstay on Swift Current soccer sidelines for years to come.

Players Profile

Casandra Evans already has a great soccer history. Now she is looking forward to an even brighter future.  Currently in her sixth season with the Saskatchewan All Star Team, Evans is training with the U17/U18 team and is eagerly anticipating a June tournament in Texas.  Among Casandra’s many highlights was being a part of the first Saskatchewan All Star team to win the prestigious Rocky Mountain Cup.   Over the years she has also honed her skills with the Regina East Panthers and Saskatoon’s SCUSC.  Back home Casandra has captured three indoor provincial titles with United club teams and is currently a member of the U17 United boys indoor team.  While most comfortable playing as a left back, Evans is capable of playing any position and has recently finished her first season as a center striker with the high school’s Ardens soccer team, where she tied for the league lead in scoring.  Evans spends countless hours traveling and training year round in Swift Current, Saskatoon, and Regina, in order to compete with and train alongside Saskatchewan’s elite female players.  One day Casandra hopes to play at the national level or perhaps play professionally overseas.   With all that Casandra has accomplished on the soccer field, all involved with Swift Current soccer are proud of her.
