    REFEREE : News and Updates

One of the most challenging activities within soccer is to become a Game Official. It is rewarding to be involved in a leadership position - to ensure the safety of the players, to keep the match flowing, protect the skilled players and to encourage fair play and enjoyment by the participants.

Individuals who are 12 years of age or older are welcome to take the initial training course to become a referee. This programme which combines classroom instruction with on-field practical skills training is designed to prepare individuals for the role of being the referee- the person responsible for the smooth operation of the match. Once certified as a referee, individuals gain experience, attend further education and training sessions and then can receive opportunities to officiate games played at the higher levels.

We have goals for our referees too! Our goals remain the same as they always have been - to recruit, train and give enjoyable soccer experiences to adult and youth referees. To achieve our goals in the coming season, we will need the continued support and enthusiastic participation of all our referees, returning and new.
We want you to know how much The Swift Current Soccer Association appreciates your efforts, both past and future.

The Referees Director is Dale Perry. If you have any refereeing questions, please contact Dale at home,(360)773-2731. If you prefer email, you may email Dale at dale.perry@shaw.ca.

This web page is meant to keep you updated on referee clinics, rules changes and general information dispersion. Please check Saskatchewan Soccer web site often for upcoming clinics and programs.
