Swift Current Soccer Association had another successful year registering 227 players and 22 coaches for the Indoor soccer season. More than half of those registered represented our Mini soccer division (4, 5, and 6 year olds).The league ran for 9 weeks, Sundays only,from 10am – 6pm out of the SCCHS gymnasium.

   The Outdoor soccer league was just as successful with 787 registered players and 150 coaches. Once again more than half of those registered, represented the 10 years and under age groups. The house league coach’s clinics were well attended and focused on techniques to assist many of the new coaches.

   Our Foresters United teams, indoor and out, were also well represented at a number of tournaments with decent results. A change in venue also resulted in a successful Soccer Fest both on and off the field.

   One of our goals was to have better communication with our Foresters United teams. I believe that this was achieved by creating the Player and Coach Development Director position and scheduling more meetings.

   The other main goal was to continue pursuing the Indoor facility. This goal may be cl oser to achieving with the city taking over the Ag and Exhibition. Communication with the city was very positive.

   For the first time in a long time, the association was represented by 12 board members who were elected at the last AGM. The workload was more evenly distributed and much easier to handle. Thank you for your hard work and the giving so freely of your time over the past year and to all the volunteers that helped along the way. YOU keep soccer moving forward and remaining so successful in Swift Current.

2008 Swift Current Soccer Association AGM

   The Swift Current Soccer Association's Annual General Meeting and Awards  will take place in Swift Current, SK. TBA, 2010 , 8:00pm Place: Soccer Office (Upstairs Stockade).  One item of business that will be on the agenda is the election of Directors to the Board.  If you are interested in attending the annual general meeting and awards please let Ruth Weiner know by contacting her at 773-1621
